Set in motion in 1917, Lapopessa the Musical follows Sister Pascalina, a young nun whose life becomes deeply entwined with Father Eugenio Pacelli, a priest whose rise through the Church will shape both of their futures. What begins as an arranged introduction grows into a complex, decades-long partnership that moves from Germany to the Vatican, where Pascalina proves indispensable as Pacelli rises from diplomat to Cardinal, and ultimately to Pope. Beneath their work lies a deeply personal bond that grows more complicated over time, testing the boundaries of faith, duty, and devotion.

As their influence grows, so do the stakes. Pascalina navigates financial crisis, high-stakes diplomacy, and the pressures of a world that grants her no official power, while facing resistance from Vatican insiders determined to push her aside. Through war, ambition, loyalty, and conflict, Pascalina and Pacelli must contend with the personal cost of service, power, and a connection that neither of them can fully define.
