a small New England working farm and safe haven for animals in Barre, Massachusetts
The Big Brown bat is the most common bat found in Massachusetts.
Here on the farm, they can be seen flying swiftly by at dusk in complete silence.
Bats are very welcome because they eat thousands of insects!

According to the Massachusetts Audubon Society,
an individual bat can eat 600 insects per hour and many of these insects are regarded as pests.
